Reizei Tamemasu (冷泉為益)

Tamemasu REIZEI (1516 - October 2, 1570) was a kugyo (high court noble) and a poet who lived in the Sengoku period (period of warring states). He was the head of the Reizei family (the Kami-Reizei family). His father was Tamekazu REIZEI. His children were Tamemitsu REIZEI and Takamasa SHIJO (adopted son of Takamasu SHIJO). He was Shonii Chunagon (vice-councilor of state at the Senior Second Rank) and served at the Minbusho (Ministry of Popular Affairs). His Buddhist name was Shukaku.
